Week One Pass/Fail Report: Sun Belt

Sun Belt Record: 5-5

Pass: Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Louisiana, Arkansas State

Appalachian State: Don't hold the loss against App State against Penn State, because they certainly wanted it more. Mountaineers had to be heartbroken after OT loss to the Nittany Lions on the road.

Georgia Southern: Chad Lunsofrd gets off to a solid start as Shai Werts rushes for 3 scores and 163 yards in the option offense.

Louisiana: Andre Nunez passes for 2 scores to start the Billy Napier era off strongly in a blowout win over Grambling.

Arkansas State: Justice Hanson passes for 6 TDs as Red Wolves get passed a slow start to pull away from SE Missouri State. Hanson had 423 yards passing in the win.

Fail: Georgia State, UL-Monroe, Troy, Coastal Carolina, Texas State, South Alabama

Georgia State: Panthers needed a very late score to avoid losing to an FCS team at home for 2nd consecutive season in win over Kennesaw State.

UL-Monroe: Warhawks got toyed with all night against SE Louisiana in a narrow win. A real wake up call.

Troy: Missing Silvers and Chunn on offense was palpable in blowout loss to Boise State. Trojans were down 35-7 at the half at home.

Coastal Carolina: After blowout loss to South Carolina, Chants have to be rethinking this FBS thing just a bit.

Texas State: Bad program staying bad. The Bobcats were never in it against Rutgers, and the losing is destined to continue.

South Alabama: Jaguars got close to upsetting Louisiana Tech in the opener, but Steve Campbell loses his first game as head coach anyway.
