Week One Pass/Fail Report: Mountain West

Mountain West Record: 8-7

Pass: Hawaii (2-0), Utah State, Nevada, UNLV, Boise State, Air Force, New Mexico, Fresno State

Hawaii: Rainbow Warriors are most impressive team over last two weeks in wins over Colorado State and Navy as double digit dogs in both. Cole McDonald is a real find at QB.

Utah State: Aggies may have fallen to Michigan State on the road, but they had a serious shot to win it, and showed some major improvement and heart.

Nevada: Pack got a big blowout win, even if it was against Portland State, the worst team in the Big Sky Conference.

UNLV: Rebels were down to USC by just 5 at the end of the 3rd. Even in losing, the Rebels showed heart and drive. This team is getting better.

Boise State: Broncos blow out Troy, and could be the best G5 team this side of UCF. It should be a big year in Boise.

Air Force: The Falcons shut out Stony Brook in opener, Falcons rush for 333 yards as a team in win.

New Mexico: Lobos get a win when they should, run away from Incarnate Word. Tevaka Tuioti passes for 3327 yards and 4 scores in the win.

Fresno State: Bulldogs rush for 7 TDs as a team, and roll up 79 points in rout of Idaho.

Fail: Colorado State (0-2), Wyoming (1-1), San Jose State, San Diego State

Colorado State: Rams have looked terrible in losses to Hawaii and Colorado to start the season, and Arkansas comes to town next. Yikes.

Wyoming: Cowboys handled New Mexico State in opener, but looked lost late in yet another failed shot at a Power 5 opponent in 22 point loss to Washington State.

San Jose State: I picked them to lose to UC Davis last weekend, and they succeeded in doing just that. This program is a dumpster fire.

San Diego State: Aztecs did everything wrong in loss to Stanford, and depended too much on Juwan Washington. Could not cover to save their lives in the secondary, and looked beaten.
