Week One Pass/Fail Report: Conference USA

Conference USA Record: 8-7

Pass: UAB, Marshall, Charlotte, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, North Texas

UAB: Blazers don't get challenged by Savannah State, but a win is a win.
Marshall: Few people believed in this team in week one, but I did. They beat Miami (OH) on the road.
Charlotte: Beat Fordham, but you have to beat who you can beat.
Louisiana Tech: Not a perfect win over South Alabama, but a must win anyway.
Southern Miss: There were, again, doubters. Southern Miss proved them wrong in win over Jackson State.
North Texas: Big win over SMU shows they can make a run in 2018. Mason Fine goes for 444 yards and 3 scores.

Fail: Rice (0-2), Western Kentucky, FAU, Old Dominion, FIU, UTEP, Middle Tennessee, UTSA

Western Kentucky: Toppers score just 3 points in road loss to Wisconsin.
FAU: Couldn't score much on an iffy Oklahoma defense. Overhyped.
Old Dominion: Gave up 52 points to Liberty. Embarrassing.
FIU: Panthers showed some fight against Indiana, but defense could not get the job done.
UTEP: Miners were a shocking 7 point dog to Northern Arizona, and then lost by 20.
Middle Tennessee: Not at all competitive against Vanderbilt in loss.
UTSA: Rebuilding job in 2018 may be more severe than originally thought.
Rice: Rice barely escaped Prairie View in week zero, then they blow a large lead over rival Houston in 45-27 loss.
