New Mexico State vs. Minnesota Analytics

New Mexico State and Minnesota have played just 2 times prior to their Thursday meeting, with the series tied at 1-1. The first ever meeting occurred in 2011, with New Mexico State winning on the road 28-21. Minnesota traveled to Las Cruces in 2013, and came away with a 44-21 win over the Aggies.
Obviously, neither team has won in the home of the other, with both teams scoring road wins in this series.
NMSU is coming off a 29-7 week zero loss to Wyoming, while Minnesota will be playing their season opener.
Minnesota will be starting a freshman walk on at QB, while New Mexico State heads into week 2 with new starters at QB, RB, and WR who all saw action last week.
The Gophers finished 5-7 last season in year one under PJ Fleck, while NMSU finished 7-6 with a win over Utah State in the New Mexico Bowl.
