Kevin Sumlin, Arizona
This marks Sumlin's 3rd stop as a head coach in FBS football, as he has worked at both Houston and Texas A&M on his way to Arizona. Sumlin was highly successful at Houston, but fell short of expectations at Texas A&M, and had his share of issues while in College Station, which led to the departures of several players via transfer.
He won 10 or more games twice in 4 years with Houston, and finished with a 35-17 record. He won 12 games in his first year at A&M, and 9 games in year 2, but never again won more than 8 games, and lost 5 games in each of his final 4 seasons, never winning more than 8. At some programs, that would work, but not at A&M, and not in the upper echelon of the SEC, which is where the Aggies want to be.
Sumlin should be a breath of fresh air at Arizona, after the off-field shenanigans of Rich Rodriguez, who in hindsight, never should have ever left West Virginia.
Arizona opens Saturday against BYU.
