College Football New Head Coaches Preview: Herm Edwards, Arizona State

Herm Edwards, Arizona State
This begins only the second ever appearance as a college coach for Edwards, who last coached in the college game at San Jose State as a DB coach in 1989. He has 8 seasons experience as a head coach in the NFL, where he was fired twice, both by the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs, and he has not coached since 2008.
This was a highly scoffed at hire for a school of the stature of ASU, and they could have had Sumlin in the weeks moving up to this hiring. His record as an NFL head coach is 56-78.
Arizona State hosts UTSA Saturday night in Tempe, and the Roadrunners will be upset minded.
