College Football New Head Coaches Preview: Dan Mullen, Florida

Dan Mullen, Florida
Mullen is no stranger to Florida football, as he was the OC/QB coach when Tim Tebow was running the game at QB for the Gators. Mullen also worked under Urban Meyer at Utah and Bowling Green as QB coach, and spent time as a grad assistant at both Syracuse and Notre Dame before that. He also coached receivers at both Wagner and Columbia.
What you have to look at is bowl records when it comes to Mullen. He is 6-2 in bowls while head coach at Mississippi State, and had an overall mark of 69-46 in Starkville, and that is not an easy thing to do.
Mullen knows the culture at Florida well, and he understands the expectations. Don't be shocked to see him pushing for SEC East titles inside of 2 seasons, and some expect that this season, which I think is overkill.
Florida opens the season at home against Charleston Southern, which is just another example of putrid SEC scheduling.
