College Football Week 2 Pass/Fail Report: Big 12

Week 2 Conference Record: 8-2

Pass: TCU, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kansas, Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma State

TCU: The Frogs struggled early, but then blew the doors off and stamped out the Mustangs on the road 42-12. Shawn Robinson passes for a pedestrian 154 yards in the win, but Ohio State is up next.

Oklahoma: The Sooners easily ran over UCLA, especially in the second half, and the Sooners defense may be one of the most improved units nationally. Kyler Murray passed for 306 yards and 3 scores, and added another 2 rushing scores in the win.

West Virginia: Will Grier passes for 4 scores (has 9 for the season) in a 52-17 win over FCS member Youngstown State. Game against NC State this week has been cancelled due to the approaching hurricane.

Kansas: Pooka Williams rushed for 2 scores on 125 yards, and Kansas ends a 46 game road losing streak, and finds a way to beat someone from the MAC.

Texas Tech: Red Raiders jumped to a 42-0 lead on Lamar at the half, and cruised on to win 77-0. Now to play a real opponent.

Baylor: Bears are getting better every week under Matt Ruhle. Charlie Brewer passes for 328 yards and 3 scores in 37-20 win over UTSA.

Oklahoma State: Taylor Cornelius is cruising right along at QB for OSU, as he passes for 428 yards in an easy win over South Alabama. Cowboys get first real test this week when Boise State rolls into Stillwater.

Fail: Kansas State, Iowa State, Texas

Kansas State: Turns out that near loss to South Dakota was not a fluke, as the Wildcats get completely outgunned at home again in 21 point loss to Mississippi State. Could be a long season for the Wildcats.

Iowa State: Cyclones played solid defense in a loss to Iowa, but the offense scoring just 3 points on the day was not a great effort. Hard to see what the Cyclones will be moving forward after that weak performance.

Texas: Longhorns were a 22 point favorite against Tulsa, and barely escaped with the win. Tom Herman's honeymoon in Austin is about to be over with.
