Conference Title Chase Update: AAC

AAC

UCF is in complete control once again in the East, and should cruise this week against Navy, before a final showdown for the title should take place next week against Cincinnati. The Bearcats would need a Temple loss and a win over UCF to ensure their place as the division champ. USF is now out of the race in the east.

UCF wins if: They beat Navy and Cincinnati in the next 2 weeks, or if they beat Navy, lose to Cincinnati, and then get Cincinnati to lose to East Carolina.

Cincinnati wins if: They win out and get Temple to lose one of their final games.

Temple wins if: They win out, Cincinnati and one other team beat UCF.

In the West, Houston took a bad beat by SMU last week that opened what would have been an otherwise closed book in the division. Things get interesting, as Houston gets Temple this week, and Tulane the following week, followed by a finale at Memphis. They are in control right now, but they only stay in control with one more SMU loss at some point, if Houston loses at some point.

Houston wins if: They win out, or SMU loses once more. If SMU loses one game, Houston can then afford to lose one of their final 3 games.

SMU wins if: Houston loses again, and the Mustangs win out. There is no reasonable scenario where SMU wins the division if they lose once more.

Tulane wins if: The Green Wave still has a path, but it requires a win over Houston, and SMU losing once more this in the final 3 weeks of play. Tulane has to win out for the scenario to work. They have games left against East Carolina, Houston, and Navy, so this is still possible.
