FBS Defensive Tackle of the Year 2010

And now, we complete the Defensive Line awards for player of the year for the 2010 season on the FBS level. I am happy to announce the award, and it goes to...

Nick Fairley
I am not the biggest Auburn fan, but I have to be fair. Nobody dominated up the middle like Fairley did in 2010. Fairley had 26 TFLs and was in the face of every QB that he came into contact with. He is known for being a cheap shot artist, but even without that, he plays like Vince Wilfork in that he is incredible at collapsing a pocket and getting into the backfield on almost every play. Basically unblockable. Has the mean and nasty streak that you look for in a DT. Doesn't hurt that the Tigers won the national title, but Fairley is leaving a year early.
