Taught a Master's Class
Clemson Tigers
They came, they saw, they kicked ass. PC gets slammed by a second ACC team, and now they return to the depths of 1-AA. The Tigers spread the love around on offense, with 3 different QBs tossing TD passes on the day.

Maryland Terrapins
The Terps followed up their shocking win over Navy with an absolute thumping of the Morgan State Bears in College Park. One cannot complain about the start that Ralph Friedgen has had this season, but can the Terps maintain this pace?

Didn't Learn Much
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
The Deacons have gotten off to a solid start, but they have not played anyone, and the defense was as leaky as a refugee raft this weekend. Thank god that the offense showed up to play, but who instituted the Arena Football rules that resulted in that score?

Boston College Golden Eagles
I am trying to figure out why the Eagles can never just go out and blow someone out of the building. It's like watching the junior just enough to win, and go home. Dave Shinskie passed for both BC TDs on the day, but Montel Harris averaged only 2.9 yards per carry. Not good.

NC State Wolfpack
NC State is off to a 2-0 start, but I still don't know much about who they are. They struggled to beat a pretty good UCF team on the road, but then again, UCF was favored. This week, the Pack jumped out to a 21-7 lead, and then sweated out the win. Russell Wilson only completed 33% of his passes on the day.

Virginia Cavaliers
Yes, the Wahoos lost, but they hung in with USC until the bitter end. If there is any such thing as a good loss, this may very well have been it. The Cavs are getting better, and the AC had better be aware.

Failing Grade
Duke Blue Devils
Simple math...when you score 48 points, you win. Duke failed simple math this weekend. Where's the defense? Where's the fortitude?

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Tech fell to an old nemesis...the lack of a passing game. Get the Jackets down, and they lose...again, simple math. They simply were not prepared, and thought that Kansas would just lay down for them. Big mistake when going on the road. Jamar Nesbit completed only 5 of 15 passes.

Virginia Tech Hokies
The schedule was set up perfectly so that if Tech lost to Boise, which they did, they would have a nice and easy rebound game against 1-AA James Madison. That turned out to be a not so easy blunder. Tech never got their head out of their asses, and the Dukes waltzed out of Lane Stadium with a win, and left Frank Beamer stunned and looking for a secret exit off of the campus. Where's the heart?

Florida State Seminoles
I was at DFW airport last Thursday, and I saw many Seminole fans making their connection to Oklahoma City and Tulsa on the journey to Norman. I picked this team to pull an upset. The Noles crapped on us all, and Christian Ponder saw any slight chance of mention with the Heisman go up in flames.

Miami Hurricanes
Since simple math seems to be our favorite lesson, let's add one more piece. If your "star QB" throws 4 ridiculous picks, you lose. Miami passed that lesson with flare, and Jacory Harris looked like a joke. If it had not been for some OSU special teams failures, this game would have been over early, which it still essentially was.

Week 3 Schedule
Cincinnati (1-1) at NC State (2-0) (Thursday)
Maryland (2-0) at West Virginia (2-0)
Georgia Tech (1-1) at North Carolina (0-1)
East Carolina (2-0) at VirginiaTech (0-2)
BYU (1-1) at Florida State (1-1)
Alabama (2-0) at Duke (1-1)
Clemson (2-0) at Auburn (2-0)
Wake Forest (2-0) at Stanford (2-0)
Miami, Boston College, and Virginia are idle
